We chat to Stephen Fitzgibbon about starting his own production company and building a slate, how he transitioned from acquisitions to producing everything from music videos to feature films. Stephen is a Producer based in Los Angeles. In addition to producing he also has extensive experience as a Development, Production & Acquisitions Executive. He most notably acquired and distributed titles such as “Winter’s Bone” starring Jennifer Lawerence, Pawel Pawlikowski’s Oscar winner “Ida” and 2017 Oscar nominated documentary “Fire at Seat” for ANZ company Curious Film.

As a producer he works on multiple mediums from film, commercials and music videos. Some recent highlights include a Beats By Dre x Sha’Carri Richardson spot featuring new music by Kanye West which premiered during the 2021 NBA Finals, Apple Music’s documentary series - Up Next, Grouplove’s “Deleter” and “Youth” video’s for Atlantic Records, the acclaimed innovative “Save Ugly” campaign for The Wilderness Society directed by Zoë Bell and starring Rosario Dawson and Cate Blanchett, and the “Say No To Racism” campaign directed by and starring Taika Waititi.

Recent projects as Producer/Executive Producer include US feature “Warm Blood” shot by visionary Director of Photography, Christopher Blauvelt on 16mm, the Hugo Weaving lead Australian feature “Hearts and Bones”, which had its international premiere at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival, Ben Hackworth’s “Celeste” which recently premiered at the BFI London Film Festival and short film’s “Beverly” and “Forever and Ever” both of which have screened at major festivals across the globe.

He is currently working on a number of projects in development and production including the pilot episode for infamous artist NeckFaces’ upcoming TV show, Yasmin Hed’s documentary “IPI”, Xavier Hamel’s “Hello I’m Shelly Duvall”, and Christopher Blauvelt’s “Disco’s Out...Murder’s In” based on the acclaimed book of the same title.
